We saw a lot of firsts this wedding that we knew was going to make for an exceptionally unique wedding! Lisa grew up spending summers at her families cabin on the lake, exploring barefoot in the woods - so for her wedding day she did the same thing! Yep - she wore NO SHOES, and traipsed through the woods, along the dock & into the night bare foot, wearing some gorgeous beaded "sandals" that a friend custom made for her! There was no where she wouldn't go...and we have to say it, Lisa, you are RAD! Then, in the middle of their portraits, we heard cheering going on down by the water, so we took a moment and went over to look...at the new dock that was being paddled across the lake to be set up just in time for their ceremony! The old dock would best be described as "jenky", "sinkable" and a few other words...so a brand new dock in its place just in time for the ceremony was perfect, especially since it nearly sank earlier in the day with the whole bridal party on it! You'd think the excitement would end there - but it was just getting started, because Dan canoed across the lake for his grand entrance to the ceremony! BOOM!
There were a lot of pretty awesome and hilarious moments at Dan & Lisa's wedding...but I think our favourite (maybe Lisa's least favourite) had to be her parents speech! The story of Lisa's conception went on for a while, and like any good story, it started with setting the scene..."We aren't really sure if it was the Motel 6 at SeaTac or in Paradise when we arrived..." and carried on from there! It definitely had everyone laughing and some cringing...and it most certainly set the tone for a fantastic reception!
Honestly - we could go on, there were so many new & exciting things to see at Lisa & Dan's wedding that we're still talking about it!! BUT - see for yourself...

Just as we were finishing the photo above...we heard cheers, hollars and the sound of splashing water - the new dock had arrived!

Lisa's grandma, who is 99 years young, passed down a beautiful locket to Lisa when she graduated from University. The locket was the first gift that her husband ever gave her, and it was an incredibly special moment for Lisa to show her grandma that she was wearing with on her wedding day!
